As good as a rest

It’s the time of year when I start looking forward to Christmas and New Year, largely because it means more lie-ins, as I tend to burn the candle at both ends during the rest of the year. As the saying goes, however, a change is as good as a rest, and the theme of change – or distinctness – was something I identified in this issue.

One major change this year has come in the form of the Committee make-up: you can read more about this in the interviews with outgoing members Karin and Iwan. Alastair also tells us how his career has changed in his efforts to rebrand. Marianne reports on her first ScotNet event after her relocation to Edinburgh. Alicja explains how she brought something different to a school in Poland by introducing the pupils to Scotland. And Aleksandra demonstrates that CPD can take a different form from the usual lectures and webinars!

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to the newsletter over the year, particularly the 30th anniversary issue. It really does mean the world whenever something drops into my inbox. However you’re spending the festive period, I wish you all the very best – and pleasant dreams, if you’re spending it like I will be.
