Kay McBurney

Over 35 years’ experience as both an in-house and freelance translator, including 10 years studying and working in Germany & Austria. I currently focus on corporate communications, website copy, policy documents and marketing collateral across topics such as sustainability, renewable energy, gender equality, migration and human rights. My wider interests include 20th century German history (especially the GDR era) and sailing.
In 2020 I was the recipient of the Goethe-Institut Award for New Translation for emerging literary translators.
I am also a member of the Society of Authors (Translators Association).
