Elena Zini

I work as an English > Italian translator and interpreter in Edinburgh, with French and Spanish as my C languages. I specialise in the fields of media and film subtitling, as well as legal translation. I hold a MSc in Translation and Conference Interpreting from Heriot Watt as well as a degree in Law from Bologna University. For the past 4 years I have been translating texts across various fields (tourism, insurance, sport, education, EU policies) for agencies and private clients, alongside interpreting at international conferences in the UK and abroad. I work with independent filmmakers and major productions for film subtitling and, thanks to a musical background (I sing traditional Italian music here in Scotland with my band The Badwills!), I specialise in translating song lyrics, with two publications in this field. I also have my own translation agency Subtrain, for the management of multilingual translation and subtitling projects.
